xkssg

xkssg is a really simple static site generator using Go. I wrote it primarily because I was frustrated with Hugo being too complicated and difficult to customise. All I wanted to do was:

• Specify a base template for all pages
• Write content in Markdown and have it converted to HTML
• Copy any non-Markdown files as-is

I didn’t need:

• Built-in web server - I use php -S for this
• Blogging functionality
• RSS feeds

xkssg does exactly what I need, nothing more and nothing less. As a result, it is probably not useful to other people, unless you have exactly the same needs.

I use xkssg for several of my sites, including this one, C Developer and Non-Executive Director.
